How To Fit Plasterboard: Step By Step Guide

Step 1: Measure the Area

Start by taking measurements of the wall or ceiling before you cut the board. Take note of these, specifically the height and width of each section and observe any openings that would be available for doors, windows, sockets or wiring.

Step 2: Cut the Plasterboard

Once you have snapped the board, cut through its backing to make sure you have separated the board completely. Use a plasterboard saw when you are cutting out around sockets, pipes, etc.

Step 3: Position the First Board

Lift the board and put it into position; it needs to sit square against the frame. Start this in one corner and then work your way across.
