Mannok PIR Insulation Boards
Mannok PIR insulation boards are designed for multi-purpose applications to improve the thermal performance of residential and commercial buildings. The boards are made up of a fibre-free rigid polyisocyanurate (PIR) core with composite foil facings bonded to each side of the board. The boards are available in thicknesses ranging between 25mm and 150mm with a width of 1200mm and a length of 2400mm. The thermal conductivity of the boards is an impressive 0.022W/mK, which means heat transfers through the boards at a slow rate, reducing energy and heat loss. This will reflect positively on your energy bills by saving you money. These boards are easy to handle due to their light weight and simple to cut with a sharp knife or fine-toothed saw. PIR boards can be used within floor applications, below and above concrete, wall applications, on solid walls and within timber and steel frames, and within the roof for pitched and flat roof applications.
Mannok Insulated Plasterboards
Mannok insulated plasterboards are also known as Mannok Therm Laminate-Kraft or MLK. The MLK product combines high performing insulation with a Polyisocyanurate (PIR) core with a sheet of 12.5mm plasterboard made up of gypsum bonded to one side and kraft paper facings bonded to the other. The available sizes are 37.5mm (25mm PIR board and 12.5mm plasterboard), 50.5mm (38mm PIR board and 12.5mm plasterboard), 62.5mm (50mm PIR board and 12.5mm plasterboard), and 72.5mm (60mm PIR board and 12.5mm plasterboard). The insulated plasterboards can be installed directly to solid walls or horizontally over a timber or steel frame within pitched roofs or internal walls with the plasterboard facing away from the install space. This product saves time and money on purchasing two products and installing in two separate applications. The plasterboard side can be taped, skimmed, plastered, or decorated to best suit each individual project. This insulated plasterboard will create a more temperature-controlled environment whilst providing a smooth surface ready for finishing.
Mannok FAQs
Is Mannok Therm Wall and Mannok Therm Floor the same thing?
Mannok Therm Wall and Mannok Therm Floor are both boards that consist of a polyisocyanurate core bonded to low emissivity composite foil bonded to each side with a thermal conductivity of 0.022W/mK. Both boards are 1200mm by 2400mm and available in thicknesses between 20mm and 200mm. The boards also have the same fire performance of Class 1 / Euroclass E. Both of these boards are the same and either product can be used within walls or floors. The only difference is the manufacturing name of the boards.
Who Makes Quinn Therm?
Quinn Therm was rebranded as Mannok in 2020. It is understood that three hedge funds, Silver Point, Brigade Capital, and Contrarian Capital, own three quarters of Mannok with the remainder owned by management or other investors.
Is Mannok Therm Laminate-Kraft the same as Celotex Insulated Plasterboard?
The Mannok Therm Laminate-Kraft boards and Celotex PIR insulated plasterboard are available in the same thicknesses with a plasterboard thickness of 12.5mm. Both Celotex and Mannok boards are bonded on one side to a high-quality paper facing. The Mannok brand does offer a foil alternative which is known as the Mannok Therm Laminate-Foil.
Is Mannok the cheapest PIR board?
Here at trade, we sell them all of our PIR insulation boards at the same price. All of our PIR boards are the same product, and each have the same specifications. The only difference between the different brands that manufacture PIR insulation is that some are available in slightly thicker or thinner thicknesses. For example, Celotex is our only rigid board that goes up to a thickness of 200mm.
Can you dot and dab a Mannok Therm Laminate-kraft board?
Due to the paper facing on the back of the board, this board is suitable for fixing using the dot-and-dab adhesive method in addition to the mechanical fixing method if required, as opposed to other boards that have foil facings which are known to slide or peel over time.
